I am a minister at a small but holy ghost filled church. A fellow minister is in the process of leaving the church. He has spoken with me but not to our Pastor. I have encouraged him to do so but to no avail. I understand his frustration but I also see a side that I can't seem to get him to understand. He has been ordained for 2 years. His ordination was well received by the flock. He was respected and loved and then all went south. I saw the tidal wave and attempted to offer him a life raft but again it was not received. I am forwarding the above article to him in hopes that he will stop and deeply consider the move. I will miss him if he leaves but the way he plans to slitter away is bothersome to me.
Thank you so much for an insightful article that will give me some peace and release me from this need I have to make him see what I think is an error. It's all up to God and the article.

I know that God ordain this email in my direction for such a time as this. I have been under direct attack and pressure in my body since 7/5/09. God know God sent this message for me. I've have got to learn with prayer how to simply pray, let go and ignore. Thank you, and God bless your ministry.

Absolutely excellent advice, and coming just at a time when I need it most. The Lord certainly does move in mysterious ways, and looks after those who serve Him. May he always have you in His care.

Hi! I recently visited a church where the pastor had "led" for more than 10 yrs. I counted 25 in the morning worship service - I was the youngest, and I'm 74 yrs. old! No way they can attract young families - would you take your young family there? They're resigned to the prospect of letting the church die. Their facility is quite nice though the auditorium is unfinished due to lack of money (actually, lack of ideas!) But if they used their strength and actually aimed ministries to meet the needs of older adults, the church would grow and eventually, might attract younger folks as well. At least that's my take on things. Otherwise, want to buy a nice church?!
